Lithuanian Students Win Two Silver and Two Bronze Medals at the 36th International Biology Olympiad
From July 20 to 27, Lithuanian students earned two silver and two bronze medals at the 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO), held in Quezon, Philippines. The competition took place at Ateneo de Manila University and brought together nearly 300 students from 77 countries, according to the Lithuanian National Agency for Education (LINEŠA).
"Despite the challenges posed by time zone differences, cultural adjustments, our students once again demonstrated their talent and strong preparation – all four team members are returning with medals," said Dr. Gediminas Beresnevičius, Head of the Talent Development Division at LINEŠA.
Silver medals were awarded to:
Justas Miliauskas, Vilnius Lyceum (teacher: Alyda Daulenskienė)
Emilijus Latakas, Klaipėda Lyceum (teacher: Ingrida Rimkienė)
Bronze medals were awarded to:
Artūras Makselis, Varėna "Ąžuolas" Gymnasium (teacher: Vida Stonienė)
Titas Balčiūnas, Vilnius Jesuit Gymnasium (teachers: Ala Vaicekauskienė, Simas Ignatavičius)
